What services does TELR offer?
TELR provides guidance and strategic solutions in instructional design and eLearning, including eLearning consulting, multimedia training, and maintaining Ohio State's learning management system. TELR also sponsors events and grants to encourage innovative use of educational technology and performs research in new and emerging educational and instructional technologies. What instructional technology services fall outside of TELR?
Instructional technology services available from other campus units include:
- Classroom-based Technology (i.e., video, audio, projectors) - Contact Classroom Services for loan, delivery, and setup of media in support of instruction; optional operator assistance is available on request. Media preview rooms and media classrooms can also be scheduled.
- Video Work and Streaming Media - Contact Classroom Digital Media Distribution for assistance with video conferencing, recording classes or events, video conversion, and web hosting for large media files.
- Software Training - OIT's Computing Short Courses offer training on a range of topics, including Microsoft software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and basic web development. Training is also available for a fee through the Office of Continuing Education (CED).
Does OSU offer distance learning courses?

What is Carmen?
Carmen is Ohio State's learning management system -- the backbone of Ohio State's eLearning infrastructure. TELR supports Carmen through training workshops, one-on-one course design consultation, and system maintenance and development. Learn more about Carmen.
What is the Digital Union?
The Digital Union is a collaboration between TELR and the University Libraries. Located at 370 Science and Engineering Library, the Digital Union is the place at Ohio State University where faculty, students, and staff can learn emerging technologies.
