
Sent messages are not saved through your email application because they are generated within Carmen. However, when sending email through Carmen, the sender automatically receives a copy of the email, labeled "Sent Mail: (subject)" through the OSU email system.
Recipients selected through the Classlist are automatically placed in the "To" field. If you wish to place them in the "BCC" field, you must cut and paste them from the "To" field to the "BCC" field. Using the recommended Email tool allows recipients to be placed in any field.
When emailing a large class through the Classlist tool, there may be issues with some browsers. With a large classlist , we recommend displaying no more than 100 students on each page, then emailing each page separately. Note that if you use this option, you will receive multiple “Sent Mail” copies of the email.
Emails sent from Carmen automatically go to the recipients' lastname.#@osu.edu address. Users who do not use their lastname.#@osu.edu account as their main email address should forward the account to their preferred email address. To create a custom email signature in Carmen, access My Preferences from the Carmen home page (not your course home page). Emails sent from Carmen will not include any signatures created through your email application or OSU WebMail.
