Question Library: Import Questions
You can import questions, either in Carmen's text format or from Respondus, a third-party quiz application.
Importing Questions from a Text File
You can import questions in bulk using Carmen's text format file. To do this, you need to download the template, create your question file based on the template, and then upload your question file.
To download a template of the format:
1. Access Quizzes and click 
Question Library.
2. Click Import.
3. Select From a Desire2Learn Text Format File as the Import Source. The screen will change to reveal different options.
4. Click the link to download the CSV Sample File for reference.
5. Save the file to your hard drive.
After downloading the sample file, create new questions based on the examples.
To upload a question file in the proper text format:
1. Access Quizzes and click Question Library.
2. Click Import.
3. Select From a Desire2Learn Text Format File as the Import Source. The screen will change to reveal different options.
4. Click Browse to select your question file, and click Open.
5. Click Save.
Importing Questions from Respondus
1. Prepare the Respondus file. While within Respondus and before you either open an existing quiz or start a new one, ensure that the IMS QTI Personality is selected from the Current Personality drop-down menu under the Start tab. Export the file.
2. Log in to Carmen and go to your Course Home.
3. Click Content.
4. Click Edit Course in the top right of the toolbar.
5.Click
Import/Export/Copy Components.
5. Choose Import Components, click Browse and navigate to the QTI file you created in Respondus.
6. Click Next.
