Below is a list of file types supported in Carmen, alphabetized by the file extensions that represent them.

If your prefered file format is not supported, try Media Manager which supports a wider range of files types.

.bdat - BASIC programming data file

.ccp4 - data file for x-ray/microscope imagery

.cns - Windows 2000 Client connection manager export file

.dat - Database file, extension used by many different applications

.do - Digital line graph

.doc - Word documents / word-processing documents from Word-compatible apps

.docx - Word documents from Microsoft Office 2007

.dwg - AutoCAD drawings

.ent - SGML character mapping

.fig - Geometry figures (various programs)

.flv - Flash-based video for online/streaming distribution

.gif - Graphic file, may be animated, parts may be transparent, best for line art/limited colors

.htm/.html - Webpages

.iam - Inventor CAD (computer-assisted design file) assembly

.idw - - Inventor CAD (computer-assisted design file) - drawing

.ipn - - Inventor CAD (computer-assisted design file) presentation

.ipt - - Inventor CAD (computer-assisted design file) "part"

.jpg - Graphic file, best for photographic images

.lim - compressed-file archive (limited)

.m - Mathematica functions/commands, also MATLAB function or script

.m4a - MPEG-4 audio

.m4b - MPEG-4 audio

.m4v - MPEG-4 video (many encoded videos, such as iTunes store)

.mat - MATLAB variables file, also Poser 3D pose file

.mex - MATLAB executable file, also WordPerfect macro editor file

.mov - Quicktime video

.mp3 - Audio file (MPEG layer 3)

.mp4 - MPEG-4 video

.mx - MATLAB common matrix

.omap - ordered mapping language (changed keyboard functions)

.one - MS Office OneNote file

.pdb - Palm document/Palm database, - also C64 Emulator file

.pdf - Acrobat documents

.ppt/.pps - PowerPoint file / PowerPoint show (self-running, not editable)

.sas - SAS source file (database file)

.sas7 - SAS source file (SAS version 7)

.sav - SPSS data file

.sps - SPSS syntax

.swf - Shockwave/Flash animation files

.wps - MS Works text document
