Content: Working with Other Media Sources

Although you can upload materials directly to Carmen, you can also link to other media and content sources. This is the recommended option if your file sizes (individually or as a group) are relatively large.

Three media and content sources available to the OSU community are:

Materials placed in a Carmen course are subject to the same copyright restrictions as items distributed in other learning environments. See the Copyright Help Center at OSU for more information.  

Instructions

Using other media sources within a Carmen course is a two-step process:

Step 1: Place (or Locate) the Media Files

Before working in Carmen, you'll need to place your media files on the appropriate server. Please contact the group in charge of the media or content source directly for information or assistance.

When your content is ready, you will have a URL that points to it.

Step 2: Add a Link in Carmen to Media Files

Once you have a URL that points to the content, you can add it to your course as a link. There are two recommended ways to link to external content:
