Grades: Entering Grades

Access the Gradebook and click Enter Grades Enter Grades in the main menu to view the Student List.

You have several options for entering grades, including entering grades by student, by grade item, or in Spreadsheet View (which allows you to enter data in any cell of your gradebook). Alternatively, you can import grades from a .csv file editable in Excel.

You can hide/show gradebook columns by clicking Display Options Display Options below the top toolbar. This does NOT hide them from the student view.  See Creating Grade Items for details on hiding columns from students.

To enter grades by grade item or category:

Click Enter Grades Enter Grades next to every grade item and grade category. Then, enter grades in the empty boxes and click Save.

To enter grades for an individual student:

Click a student's name to open the User Grades page. Then, enter grades for each item. Click Save when done applying each student’s grades. Click the blue left and right arrows to move to a different student.

To record grades in Spreadsheet View:

Click Switch to Spreadsheet View Switch to Spreadsheet View below the top toolbar.  Then, enter grades in the empty boxes and click Save.

 To switch from Spreadsheet View back to the Standard View (which displays your grade data and allows you to open a single grade column for grading), click Switch to Standard View Switch to Standard View below the top toolbar.
