Show me Entering Grades.
Access the Gradebook and click
Enter Grades in the main menu to view the User List.
You have several options for entering grades, including entering grades by student, by grade item, or in Spreadsheet View (which allows you to enter data in any cell of your gradebook). Alternatively, you can import grades from a .csv file editable in Excel.
You can hide/show gradebook columns by clicking
Display Options below the top toolbar. This does NOT hide them from the student view. See Creating Grade Items for details on hiding columns from students.
You can sort the gradebook by student firstname or lastname, or by any grade item. To sort, click on the name of the item (in the column header). Click again to reverse the sort-order on that item. (Note: You can't sort by text items.)
Use the View By: dropdown box to limit the number of students displayed in the gradebook. Choose a category and click Apply. If applicable, choose a section or group and click Apply again.
Click
Enter Grades next to the name of the grade item and grade category. Then, enter grades in the empty boxes and click Save.
When grading by item, you can also:
Click a student's name to open the User Grades page. Then, enter grades for each item. Click Save when done entering each student's grades. If desired, click the blue left and right arrows near the top of the page to move to a different student.
When grading by student, you can also:
In the
Enter Grades area, click
Switch to Spreadsheet View in the action bar at the top of the page. Then, enter grades in the empty boxes and click Save.
To switch from Spreadsheet View back to the Standard View (which displays your grade data and allows you to open a single grade column for grading), click
Switch to Standard View in the action bar.
