Submitting final grades from Carmen to the Registrar is a two-part process:
Be aware:
Percentage grades CANNOT be submitted to the Registrar's system. You MUST use a letter-based scheme with only A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D+, D, and E (such as the OSU Standard Scheme) or S/U (see Selecting a Grading Scheme). Also, you CANNOT use I (incomplete) or EN (Failing, Non-attendance) grades within Carmen; you must apply these grades in the Registrar's system.
If you haven't set up your Gradebook and recorded student grades, you CANNOT use Carmen to transfer final grades to the Registrar's system.
To export grades to the Registrar's system, users must be logged in under their own username and also hold the Instructor role in the Carmen course. In order to post grades via the Registrar's system, individuals must be associated with the course as an instructor of record.
Grade transfer from Carmen to the Registrar's system is available during specified time periods, typically beginning the 10th week of the quarter. See the Carmen homepage for announcement of grade export windows.
To transfer final grades from Carmen to the Registrar:
1. Access the Gradebook and click
Enter Grades to go the Student List.
2. Review grades in the Student List:
If grades appear in the Final Adjusted Grade column, click
Transfer Grades to Registrar. (This option becomes visible to instructors only after grades items are created and final grades have been calculated at least once.)
If no grades appear in the Final Adjusted Grade column, you must calculate final grades and then return to this step. (See Calculating Final Grades.)
Tip: The image below shows how the Final Grades page should look if grades will be transfered to the Registrar.

3. Approve the Confirmation and Processing messages to continue processing grades and to begin transfer.
4. Wait for a status message to appear.
If grades transfer is successful, click the link in the status message to go to the Registrar's Grade Posting application. You must log in with your OSU username and password to approve and post grades.
If you receive a failure message, follow the instructions displayed in the message.
After export, you MUST post grades via the Registrar's system for your grades to be officially recorded. Also, to post grades, you MUST be the instructor of record or have been granted grading privileges in the Registrar's system.
