If formatting (such as page numbers, graphics, icons, or lists) must be kept intact, we recommend converting the file to a PDF and uploading it through the file manager. You can then link to the PDF document as a Topic in Content or as a Quicklink through the HTML Editor.
To remove formatting from text, following these steps:
For Windows users:
1. Within the word processor (such as Microsoft Word), locate text to be copied into HTML. Select the text and copy it.
2. Open the NotePad application found in the Applications folder of the Start Menu.
3. Paste the text into the new NotePad document. (Pasting the text into NotePad automatically removes the formatting of the existing document and leaves file in plain text.)
4. Select all the text in NotePad and copy it.
5. Go to Carmen and open a new, blank document in the HTML Editor.
6. Place the cursor inside the HTML Editor window and paste the text.

The unformatted text is now available within HTML, and formatting can be applied to it as needed.
