Known Issues

This page lists system bugs and design quirks that affect specific tools or tasks. These issues are beyond the control of the Carmen Team, but have been reported to the vendor of the software that powers Carmen. Where possible, we suggest workarounds to use until an issue can be resolved.

This information is updated as new problems and solutions are identified

Calendar Users can see the Edit and Delete icons for personal events without the appropriate permissions. BOTH none identified

Classlist Users without the "Access all Course Sections" permission can still view all sections in the Classlist tool. BOTH none identified

Content Hidden materials in Content
There is a bug in the Content feature Hidden. In some case it is possible that the Hidden materials may be revealed to students.

Content When you add LOR links to Content it creates and new sub-module then adds the link in that new sub-module. Mac: 10.4

Content When creating a new content topic, if you switch from Design Mode to HTML Mode and save without entering a title, your content is lost. BOTH none identified
Course Export All components are exported even if the user selects individual items for export. This can cause a time out error for large courses. BOTH Delete the unwanted components after importing.

Dropbox Downloading Dropbox files
When downloading specific files or all files you receive an error. Look at the student files if they end in an "x" the student have used Office 2007. Files will look like HW.xlsx (Excel) or HW.docx (Word

Email The "Reply to all" option does not work correctly when the recipients’ full email is referenced, rather than their stored username. BOTH none identified
Email Email Class members do not show My class does not appear or I have persons appearing in the Email Address book that are not in my class. Grades GradesText columns in the Gradebook will not sort by the text, the sort order reverts to the First or Last name. BOTH None
Grades Grades-Sections-TA Grader has access to All Sections when they use the Grade All button.
This issue has been reported to the vendor. There is a message before you Save that list the number of students affected. This number will be the total number of students in the Course not the Section.
