How to Log In and Find Your Carmen Courses

1. Go to carmen.osu.edu and login with your OSU Internet Username (lastname.#) and password.

2. On the Carmen My Home page, look in My Courses for the desired quarter and year and find the department teaching the course. If necessary, click the plus () to expand the list.

3. Find your course listing under the correct department and quarter, and click on the course title to open the Course Home page.

If you can't find your course, check with your instructor to make sure Carmen is being used for the course and that the course has been activated by the instructor.

Carmen Tips

• Checking your web browser. For best results, use one of the supported browsers. Also, make sure popup windows are enabled.

• Accessing course tools. From inside your courses, click the links in the navigation bar at the top of the page to access Carmen tools, such as Discussions and Content, that have been activated by your instructor. If your instructor posts News items (such as announcements), those will appear on the Course Home page.

• Getting help. Contact your instructor if you have questions about accessing course content. Contact the Help Desk about technical problems -- be prepared to provide specific details about the problem and the course. This will include what computer system and browser you are using. (Students should contact the Help Desk directly; instructors rarely have all the information necessary to troubleshoot technical problems.)
